Cardiac surgeon – what does he do?

A cardiac surgeon is a doctor who deals with the surgical treatment of congenital and acquired defects of the heart muscle, coronary vessels, ascending aorta and aortic arch.

What diseases does a heart surgeon treat?

When should you consult a cardiothoracic surgeon?

It is worth making an appointment with a cardiothoracic surgeon when echocardiographic tests or coronary angiography indicate significant disorders in the structure and/or function of the heart, and one of the methods of treatment is cardiac surgery.

What does a typical visit look like?

The heart surgeon at GlivClinic, during the medical interview, will ask what prompted you to visit. At this point, the current course of the disease should be presented in the most orderly manner possible. Then, you should also describe the emerging disturbing symptoms and present the results of the tests performed so far. The information obtained will enable the cardiac surgeon to make a decision on further management, the need to perform any additional diagnostic tests, also available in our centre. As a result, the doctor will suggest the optimal method of treatment.
